Mungrisdale Village
Mungrisdale is without doubt a small place but it does still have a couple of different options for parking. Rather than list them separately, I've simply grouped them together as Mungrisedale Village. The map shows the various places on offer.

Time was in very short supply today. Both of us had to be somewhere in Keswick at 11 o'clock and Jennifer had to be somewhere this evening so, with little more than a couple of hours for a walk, we decide on a short walk over Souther Fell from Mungrisdale.

Looking back to the village and the ridge on Bowscale Fell.

It was so hazy today there was no point in trying to capture any long distance views.

Approaching Souther Fell summit.

It had been forecast to cloud over and now Blencathra was very dark over there behind Bannerdale Crags.

Souther Fell summit.

Bowscale Fell (at the back) and The Tongue (the big lumpy bit in front).

Mungrisdale seen from the route down from Souther Fell.

Bowscale Fell and The Tongue, again.

And to finish, we look back up to Souther Fell.
