After a lovely sunny start to the day it had gradually clouded over as the morning progressed. By the time I got out the sun had gone and was a bit gray and gloomy. It was still good to be out and about though. |

This is one of my favourite views in the Lake District. Taken from the track near Fangs Brow, looking down to Loweswater and Crummock Water (just) with Darling Fell, Low Fell, Whiteside, Grasmoor and Whiteless Pike in the background. |

I don't pretend to know much about horses apart from the obvious; they've got four legs and a tail, grass goes in the front and, , , well I'm sure you don't need me to tell you what comes out of the back. Judging by the shape of this one though, I'd hazard a guess that it is expecting. |

Heading along the track leading towards Holme Wood. |

A close up of Miresyke. |

Approaching Holme Beck, where I decided to take a slight de-tour up the side of the beck to photograph a sheepfold and a couple of bields. Unfortunately one of the bields remains elusive as I just couldn't seem to find it. |

Looking back down Holme Beck. |

A de-tour from my de-tour saw me doing a sweep of the fellside in search of the shelter. After accepting it either isn't there or I just couldn't find it, I gave up and headed back down to Holme Beck. |

A brief sunny spell as I head into Holme Wood. |

Ever downwards to the lake, and looking at this picture you'd think it was autumn instead of early spring. |

I believe you can book to stay in this little bothy next to Loweswater. I've no idea what it would cost or how you'd book it, but if you find yourself without the funds to afford this place you'll be pleased to know, , , , |

|
, , , this cheaper, albeit slightly less then luxurious accommodation is on offer nearby. |

A view down Loweswater towards Whiteside, Grasmoor, Whiteless Pike and Mellbreak. |

A view back into Holme Wood. |

"There's no need to stick you're tongue out, I'm only taking your picture" |

Yippee, it looks like spring has finally sprung. |
